What filament types can I dry and how long should I dry? Can I print while the filament is being dried?
What filament types can I dry and how long should I dry? Can I print while the filament is being dried?
Yes. The AMS Lite Heater is designed to dry filament during printing, helping reduce moisture-related printing defects. The heater supports most common 3D printing filaments, including:
- PLA
- PETG
- ABS
- ASA
- TPU
- PA (Nylon)
- PC
Typical recommendations:
- PLA: 4–6 hours
- PETG: 4–6 hours
- TPU: 6–8 hours
- ABS/ASA: 4–6 hours
- PA: 8–12 hours
For best results, use the recommended drying temperature for each material.
Drying time depends on the material and moisture level.

No. When installed correctly, it does not interfere with normal filament feeding or automatic material switching.

- Do not place the SUNLU AMS Lite Heater within the reach of children. Electrical safety should be observed during operation. Do not use this product near water, such as bathrooms, bathtubs washbasins and other places where water is easily accessible.
- Please use the original power cord or a power cord that meets the safety certification requirements.
- When not using this product, please turn off the power to avoid sudden fire.
- During the working process of this product, please do not put the product on the objects which are sensitive to temperature.
- Do not touch the heater or fan inside the box during the working process of this product to avoid burns. When drying filaments, the top cover of the drying box should be covered to avoid heat dissipation. Avoid moving this product during normal operation to prevent burns caused by the high temperature of the outer surface.
- Please do not block the internal air inlet and outlet to avoid abnormal heat accumulation.
- If the product malfunctions, please turn off the power and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet, then contact the after-sales support team (support@sunlu.com).
